'Sunderland Harbour Scene’

This wax crayon drawing on thin low-grade paper was badly damaged and distorted. It was also poorly framed and stuck with degraded tapes. The tapes, glues and brittle board were removed and the paper cleaned and stabilised. Distortions were reduced and extensive repairs carried out. In preparation for conservation framing 'concealed tabs' were attached and secured to an archival 'inlay' with pared windows for verso inscriptions.
